Busy Indian OPDs lose time to paperwork: handwritten prescriptions, finding a returning patient’s last visit, and managing the waiting room. Clinics are tackling this with UpcharHub, clinic and OPD software built for Indian practice – and, for now, free.
What is UpcharHub?
UpcharHub brings front-desk registration, a live patient queue, consultation notes, letterhead prescriptions and WhatsApp follow-up reminders into one record. It runs in any browser on phone, tablet or computer. Nothing to install, no new hardware.
Speak the visit, review the note
Its most talked-about feature is AI voice capture. Dictate the consultation in any of ten languages – Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam or English – and UpcharHub drafts the complaint, vitals, medicines and notes in English. Nothing is saved until the doctor reviews and corrects every field. Printed prescriptions carry the dose line in the patient’s own language, while medicine names stay in English for the chemist.
Safety checks, kept honest
UpcharHub checks prescribed medicines against a verified dataset of known drug interactions and condition cautions – pregnancy, renal, hepatic, age band. These are deterministic dataset checks, not black-box AI opinions. A separate Visit Assistant suggests history-taking questions for the chief complaint. It never diagnoses or replaces clinical judgement.
Clinic and patient records are encrypted in transit and at rest, and stored in Google Cloud’s Mumbai region.
An optional day-care add-on
Clinics with a few day-care or observation beds can admit from the chart, add charges from their own price list, record cash, UPI or card payments, and print an itemised bill the patient can use for insurance.
Pricing that is actually published
UpcharHub publishes its pricing: the first week is free, no card required; an ongoing promotion at Rs 99 per month; a standard rate of Rs 399 per month from January 2027 or ABHA approval, whichever is later.
There are no activation charges. Doctors can start or cancel subscriptions and export or import EMR data right within the app. If UpcharHub is not the right fit, they can take their records with them. UpcharHub also supports doctors in transferring their data from other major Indian EMR systems.
More than 500 doctors signed up within 30 days of launch. For doctors moving from paper, the starting point is familiar: register the patient, dictate the visit, review the record and print the prescription. Existing clinics can bring their records along rather than start from scratch.
Who it is for today, and what is next
UpcharHub is built today for OPDs and nursing homes, which is why solo practitioners and small clinics find it usable from day one, with zero training. Support for hospitals, dentists and physiotherapists is coming soon.
Doctors can see the product and the published pricing at UpcharHub, or skip the reading and start a free week directly at https://upcharhub.in/app – no credit card, no demo call, nobody to ring.
